Ancera is currently looking for an experienced engineer to enable continued development and broader applications of the MagDrive technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Characterize and optimize the PIPER hardware and consumables.

    • Design, model, and optimize microfluidic as well as electromechanical systems.

    • Apply theoretical engineering and physics principles to practical product applications.

    • Independently create complex engineering designs.

    • Effectively manage time to achieve project goals on schedule with minimal oversight.

    • Incorporate descriptive statistical analysis while delivering concise presentations to cross-functional peer groups.

  • Support continuous improvement and product expansion efforts.

  • Participate in the entire product lifecycle from hands-on prototyping through full-scale contract manufacturing.

  • Work in a multi-disciplinary environment composed of scientists, engineers, and commercialization professionals.

  • Integrate novel biological assays in microfluidic devices.

  • Participate in voice of customer and joint development efforts with major food producers, service providers, as well as pharmaceutical companies.

  • Collaborate with outsourced software, hardware, and manufacturing engineering organizations.

Qualifications:

Technical skills

  • Strong, current skills relevant to microfluidics and automation for biotechnology applications.

  • Expert in design and modeling software tools. (Solidworks required, COMSOL preferred)

  • Experience in microfluidic design, computational fluid dynamics, and practical application of physics principles.

  • Effectively communicate technical findings that impact product function and development timelines.

  • Experience working in a regulated industry.

  • Prior collaboration with contract manufacturers and engineering firms preferred.

  • Prior experience in a biosafety environment preferred.

  • Functional understanding of microscopy systems preferred.

Ancera is currently looking for experienced Microbiologists to help lead the development of new products for the PIPER platform and run a fast paced microbiology lab.  Prior experience working with food pathogens common in the poultry processing industry is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, validate, and commercialize antibody and nucleic acid probe based pathogen detection and capture products for targets such as Salmonella, Listeria, and others.

  • Participate and present extensive research in co-development meetings with industry leading collaborators focused on animal health, preventive medicine, food safety, and food security.

  • Collaborate internally with scientists and engineers on product development and improvement project.

  • Independently design, execute, and report on experiments.

  • Characterize biological reagents such as antibodies and cell labeling systems to support development and commercialization activities (including shelf life and stability studies).

  • Prepare and produce validations that meet AOAC/AFNOR/ISO requirements for food and animal health testing.

  • Incorporate descriptive statistical analysis with concise presentations on experimental results to internal and/or external peer review groups (from marketing, sales, customers, and technical groups).

Requirements:

Technical Skills

  • Highly skilled at standard microbiology, molecular biology, and/or immunoassay techniques.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and validate experiments without supervision.

  • Experience maintaining a diverse library of microbial organisms (e.g. bacteria, parasites).

Ancera is currently looking for a Director-level microbiologist/molecular biologist to manage a fast-paced product development group focused on developing novel products for food pathogen analysis and animal health.  Prior experience with successful product launches and managing molecular biology or immunology assay development activities is required.  Experience working with food pathogens common in the poultry processing industry is preferred but not required.  

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development, validation, and commercialization of antibody-based pathogen capture products on the PIPER platform

  • Manage a multidisciplinary team of scientists to achieve product development goals of Ancera

  • Contribute your expertise to our evolving strategy on developing NGS and/or probe-based hybridization product

Ancera is currently looking for an experienced field applications delivery specialist to establish the field delivery group at Ancera and oversee field installation of our PIPER platform as well as manage ongoing Tier 1 customer support for deployed products. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Implement systems and processes to field incoming support requests from customers.

  • Build a team (internal and subcontractors) who will manage supply inventory and distribution, and perform on-site and remote services installations, maintenance and first tier support to external customers. Ensure knowledge transfer between team members.

  • Oversee technical and logistical support activities to supply chain partners for internal distributions.

  • Track, follow-up and resolve customer outstanding issues in a timely manner. Escalate issues, when required, to appropriate Ancera team members.

  • Oversee continuous improvement of services delivery processes and develop new commercial processes.
